As a part of our environmental commitment, Penske Truck Leasing, Penske Logistics and Penske Truck Rental proudly participate in and support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay Transport partnership as affiliate, carrier and logistics partners.
How We Rate
Penske Logistics and Penske Truck Rental hold the distinction of earning EPA’s highest possible Performance Score rating: 1.25. Only SmartWay Partners with scores of 1.25 are awarded the honor of displaying the SmartWay Transport Partner logo—the EPA's symbol for superior fuel efficiency and environmental performance.
About SmartWay
SmartWay is a voluntary partnership between the freight industry and the EPA that establishes incentives for improving fuel efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By 2012, SmartWay aims to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by up to 66 million metric tons and 200,000 tons, respectively, per year. The initiative will result in fuel savings of up to 150 million barrels of oil annually.
