Reading, Pa., Sept. 28, 2022 –Sonepar has selected Penske Truck Leasing to provide its new light-duty electric fleet. Penske Truck Leasing is in the process of delivering nine Ford E-Transit all-electric cargo vans to support the initiative.

These vehicles will be used for regional product deliveries in California, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington state. Penske provides Sonepar with the vehicles, lease financing, comprehensive preventive maintenance program, 24/7 roadside assistance, and the capability to charge these electric vehicles at its locations.

As a leading distributor in the U.S., Sonepar’s fleet provides the delivery of much-needed electrical, industrial and safety products to a variety of customers including electrical contractors, industrial electrical OEMs, electric utilities and commercial and institutional buildings.

Sonepar operating companies acquiring the new vehicles include North Coast Electric, Independent Electric Supply, OneSource Distributors, Capital Electric Supply and Viking Electric. The five electrical distribution companies are the first in the company’s history to use light-duty electric vehicles in the U.S.

READING, Pa., May 9, 2022 – At today's Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, Penske Truck Leasing and Shell Recharge Solutions North America announced a new joint initiative to support light-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging at Penske locations.

The project will initially deploy Level 2 (L2) electric truck charging stations with plug-and-charge capabilities, to support Penske's growing battery-electric truck fleet in California. Additional sites will be rolled out in four U.S. states in 2022 with more locations expected to be added in 2023 and beyond.

"Collaborating with Shell will help us expand and diversify our electric vehicle charging network and to support the light-duty electric vans we recently introduced," stated Art Vallely, president, Penske Truck Leasing. "We continue to invest in growing our electric fleet and charging infrastructure to provide more options to customers seeking sustainable fleet solutions."

To support Penske, Shell Recharge Solutions will deliver design, installation and charging network support through its SKY software platform. Shell Recharge Solutions will also provide maintenance support across Penske's network of L2 electric truck charging stations.

READING, Pa., May 4, 2022Penske Truck Leasing is adding Orange EV electric terminal trucks for use with customers across the U.S. The vehicles are designed for trailer-handling operations in truck yards, warehousing and distribution centers, container terminals and related operations where short-distance moves are required.

READING, Pa., April 18, 2022 – Penske Truck Leasing today announced it has ordered 750 all-electric Ford E-Transit cargo vans. The company is taking delivery of its first several vehicles in the next several weeks. The move follows successfully piloting the vehicles late last year.

Penske’s first Ford E-Transit vehicles will be made available in Southern California with other locations around the U.S. phased in later in the year. These are the first light-duty electric trucks to be made available in Penske’s rental and leasing fleet, as previously announced.

Once these Ford E-Transit electric zero tailpipe emission vehicles go into service, they will be made available for both rental and longer-term full-service leasing. Reading, Pa., April 14, 2022 – Penske Truck Leasing recently held a dedication ceremony at the WyoTech campus in Laramie, Wyoming, as the company branded a diesel training classroom. The classroom will be utilized for hands-on diesel technology training, which introduces students to various training such as diagnostics, fuel and engine exhaust system, maintenance and repair, industry certifications and career opportunities in the industry.

Over the last 10 years, Penske has hired more than 280 WyoTech graduates nationally to work as technicians in its regional operations.
